A Resolution to the Supersymmetric CP Problem with Large Soft Phases via D- branes
نویسنده
چکیده
We examine the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters that result from various ways of embedding the Standard Model (SM) on Dbranes within the Type I string picture, allowing the gaugino masses and μ to have large CP violating phases. One embedding naturally provides the relations among soft parameters to satisfy the electron and neutron electric dipole moment constraints even with large phases, while with other embeddings large phases are not allowed. The string models provide some motivation for large phases in the soft breaking parameters. The results generally suggest how low energy data might teach us about Planck scale physics.

CP Violation in Supersymmetric U(1)′ Models
The supersymmetric CP problem is studied within superstring-motivated extensions of the MSSM with an additional U(1) gauge symmetry broken at the TeV scale. This class of models offers an attractive solution to the μ problem of the MSSM, in which U(1) gauge invariance forbids the bare μ term, but an effective μ parameter is generated by the vacuum expectation value of a Standard Model singlet S...
متن کاملLHC Signatures of Resonant CP Violation in a Minimal Supersymmetric Higgs Sector
We present the general formalism for studying CP-violating phenomena in the production, mixing and decay of a coupled system of CP-violating neutral Higgs bosons at high-energy colliders. Considering the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) Higgs sector in which CP violation is radiatively induced by phases in the soft supersymmetry-breaking third-generation trilinear squark couplings a...
متن کاملPhenomenology of Minimal Supergravity with Vanishing A and B Soft Supersymmetry-Breaking Parameters
The ansatz of vanishing A and B parameters eliminates CP violating complex phases in soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, and thus provides a simple solution to the supersymmetry CP problem. Phenomenological implications of this ansatz are investigated in the framework of minimal supergravity. We show that electroweak symmetry breakdown occurs, pr...
متن کاملCan flavor-independent supersymmetric soft phases Be the source of all CP violation?
Recently it has been demonstrated that large phases in softly broken supersymmetric (SUSY) theories are consistent with electric dipole moment constraints, and are motivated in some (type I) string models. Here we consider whether large flavor-independent soft phases may be the dominant (or only) source of all CP violation. In this framework, epsilon and epsilon(')/epsilon can be accommodated, ...
متن کاملCp Violaing Phases in Susy Gut Models *
Supersymmetric CP violating phases are examined within the framework of gravity mediated supergravity grand unified models with R parity invariance for models with a light (< ∼ 1 TeV) particle spectrum. In the minimal model, the nearness of the t quark Landau pole naturally suppresses the t-quark cubic soft breaking parameter at the electroweak scale allowing the electron and neutron experiment...
